What this player does

GuardianTV Live is a pure browser IPTV player built on HTML5 video and HLS (HTTP Live Streaming). It plays two things: the verified free-to-air catalogue we maintain, and any M3U or M3U8 playlist you supply.

Because everything runs client-side, there is no software to install, no extension to approve, and no account to create. Streams that block cross-origin requests or serve over plain HTTP are relayed through our server so they still play — you will see a Relay badge on the control strip when that happens.

MP4 and WebM direct links

MPEG-TS (.ts) and RTMP streams cannot play natively in a browser — those need a desktop app such as VLC, or an IPTV app on your TV device.

Your privacy

Playlists you paste are parsed in your browser using JavaScript. The URL is not logged, not stored, and not shared. When a stream needs the relay, only the media bytes pass through — we keep no record of what you watched.

How do I play my own M3U playlist?

Open the web player, choose the 'Paste playlist' tab and enter your M3U or M3U8 URL, or upload the .m3u file from your device. The playlist is parsed in your browser and the channel list appears instantly. Your playlist URL is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

Why does a channel sometimes fail to load?

Free-to-air streams are published by third parties and go offline without warning, change address, or get rate-limited during popular events. GuardianTV Live automatically retries through a relay and falls back to a second feed where one exists. If a channel stays down, the source itself has stopped broadcasting — a paid GuardianTV subscription runs load-balanced servers at 99.9% uptime instead.

Is using GuardianTV Live legal?

GuardianTV Live indexes publicly listed free-to-air streams that broadcasters themselves publish on the open internet, and hosts no video of its own. Streaming publicly broadcast free-to-air television is legal in most countries, but rules differ, so check your local law. Rights holders can request removal of any listing through our DMCA page.
