M3U playlist checker

Find out how much of your IPTV playlist actually works. Paste a URL or upload a file — every channel is probed and marked online or offline.

Up to 200 channels are probed per run. Your playlist is parsed in your browser and never stored.

How the checker works

Your playlist is parsed in your browser, then each stream URL is requested through our relay, which follows redirects and reports the real upstream status. A browser cannot do this alone: most stream hosts send no CORS headers, so a direct request fails regardless of whether the stream is alive.

Up to 200 channels are probed per run, a handful at a time so a large playlist doesn’t hammer the source servers. That sample is more than enough to judge a list’s overall health.

Reading the result

  • 95–100% online — a well-maintained paid service. This is the standard you should hold a subscription to.
  • 70–95% — acceptable for a free list, mediocre for a paid one.
  • Under 70% — normal for community playlists scraped from forums; a red flag if you’re paying for it.

Why playlists rot

Free-to-air streams are published by broadcasters and volunteers who change addresses, restructure their CDNs or simply stop. Nobody notifies the playlist authors, so links silently die. That is precisely why our own channel directory re-verifies every stream on a six-hour cycle and drops anything that stops responding.

A paid provider has no such excuse. If a subscription you pay for scores badly here, you’re funding a list nobody maintains. Our troubleshooting guide covers how to tell a provider fault from a setup fault.

M3U checker FAQ

How do I check if my M3U playlist is working?

Paste your M3U or M3U8 URL into the checker above and press Check playlist. Each channel is probed individually and marked online or offline, with a health percentage for the list overall. Nothing is installed and your playlist is never stored.

What percentage of a playlist should be working?

For a paid subscription, expect 95% or better — anything under 90% indicates a provider with poor maintenance. Free community playlists routinely sit between 20% and 50% because the sources behind them are volunteer-published and disappear constantly.

Why do some channels show offline when they play fine elsewhere?

A few streams only respond to specific user agents, referrers or IP ranges, and will report offline here while working in a dedicated app. Streams also frequently limit simultaneous connections, so a channel already open in another device may appear unavailable.

Is it safe to paste my IPTV playlist URL here?

The playlist is parsed by JavaScript in your browser and the URL is not logged or stored. That said, an IPTV M3U URL usually contains your username and password, so as a general rule you should never post it anywhere public — forums, Discord servers or support threads included.
