How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung and LG Smart TVs
Samsung and LG run their own operating systems. Here's which apps work, and the MAC registration trap to avoid.

Open your TV's app store
On Samsung, open Apps from the home screen. On LG, open the LG Content Store.

Search for an IPTV player
Look for 'IPTV Smarters Pro' first — it needs no MAC registration. Alternatives are Smart IPTV on Samsung and Net IPTV on LG.

Install and open the app
Install it, then open it. If the app displays a MAC address and a registration website, see the note below before paying anything.

Enter your subscription details
In IPTV Smarters, choose Xtream Codes API or M3U URL and enter your provider's details. In Smart IPTV or Net IPTV, you upload the playlist against your MAC address on the developer's site instead.

Load the guide
Let the channel list finish loading, then allow several minutes for the EPG. Smart TV processors are slow — do not restart the app while it populates.
Samsung and LG don't run Android. Samsung uses Tizen, LG uses webOS, and each has its own curated app store — so your options are narrower than on Android TV, and one of the popular apps has a payment trap.
Samsung (Tizen)
Available apps: IPTV Smarters Pro, Smart IPTV, SS IPTV, Flix IPTV.
Start with IPTV Smarters Pro. It takes credentials directly in the app and requires no MAC registration.
The Smart IPTV catch. Smart IPTV shows your TV's MAC address and asks you to upload your playlist on siptv.app, then pay a one-off fee (around €6) to keep it active after the trial. It works well, but it's an avoidable cost — and many providers will pay the registration for you if you ask. Do ask before paying.
LG (webOS)
Available apps: IPTV Smarters Pro, Net IPTV, Flix IPTV.
Same shape as Samsung. IPTV Smarters Pro avoids MAC registration; Net IPTV uses it.
Expect it to be slow
This is the honest part. Smart TV processors are weak — a fraction of the power in a £40 streaming stick. With a playlist of 40,000 channels, expect slow scrolling, slow guide loading and occasional app restarts.

The browser alternative

It's slow to navigate with a TV remote, but it's a good way to test whether a stream works before troubleshooting an app.
Troubleshooting
App won't install. Sign in to your Samsung or LG account first — the stores require it.
Playlist won't load. Check the URL in a computer browser. Smart TV keyboards make typos very easy; paste rather than type where possible.
Guide is empty. Add the XMLTV EPG URL separately in the app's settings; on M3U it never loads automatically.
